Contamination Removal
Chemical decontamination (iron removers, tar solvents) and mechanical decontamination (clay bar) are used to pull embedded particulates from the clear coat, leaving the paint feeling smooth.
Paint Assessment & Polishing Considerations
Once clean and bare, the paint is assessed under dedicated lighting. Machine polishing may be discussed to address light wash marring or oxidation. However, polishing removes microscopic layers of clear coat; therefore, recommendations vary depending on vehicle condition, age, and intended use. Deep scratches cannot be removed.
Protection Options
Bare paint requires protection from the elements. Options include polymer sealants or ceramic coatings to help maintain the finish.
